For the past 6 weeks the Preschool students have been inquiring into Healthy Habits. We began the with some sorting activities using some of the toy foods available to us in the Preschool class. The students chose foods that they wanted on their plates and then sorted them into either Healthy or Unhealthy categories. The students also explained what they knew about “Healthy and Unhealthy.” From their initial comments it was clear that there was a bit of confusion about what is healthy and what isn’t…but some students were on the right track.
On Friday, October 7th the Preschool students joined the Early Years, Pre-K and Grade 1 classes on an excursion to Shiawase no Mura. The day was indeed a day of happiness as the Preschoolers enjoyed the beautiful weather and being able to play with friends a year above them and with their friends still in Early Years and Pre-K.
We had a nice picnic for snack time and then had the chance to run around on the big green lawn. It was great to see the children exploring the natural environment, playing with sticks, stones and leaves, kicking around a ball, chasing insects (and each other)!

On Tuesday, September 6th the Preschool students celebrated their move up from Early Years and into the Primary Years at the Enrollment Party! The upper classes came and welcomed them with a song and the 1st Grade students helped act out a story.
