As part of our “Where We Are in Place & Time” unit, the Kindergarten children went to the historic homes district of Kobe. We started with a Jain temple, composed of beautiful white marble and items from India. Next, we walked over to look at the European-style houses. Children could see how buildings looked in the late 1800’s- early 1900’s, as well as get a glimpse into the lives of the people who once lived there through photographs– we even found out one girl (who used to live in the home) went to our school nearly 100 years ago! We enjoyed the stroll in Kobe and a little bit of time-travel. Check out our photos below!
