Earlier this month, on November 1st the Grade 2 class hosted the monthly assembly. As the central idea our first unit of the year dealt with getting along with other people by learning about their thinking and feelings, and communicating our own we spent a good amount of time concentrating on the line of inquiry that examined "strategies to solve problems help us learn about each other." Within this line of inquiry, the students' were introduced to Kelso the Frog and his wheel of choice.
When discussing our options for our assembly performance, the students were excited about the opportunity to share the Kelso's Choices song and dance with the rest of the school community. The students demonstrated creativity, cooperation and commitment as they put in a lot of effort, singing, acting out the different conflict scenarios, and coming up with the different dance steps for our performance. They also took action by explaining about Kelso's choices and put a copy of the Kelso's Choices Wheel out on the playground in order to help other students resolve problems on their own. Well done Grade Two!!
