For the end of our unit on culture, the Grade 1 and 2 students were tasked with creating a Cultural Mini-Museum to share with others what they had learnt about the similarities and differences between the different aspects of culture such as food, clothing, homes, stories, music/ instruments, games, sports, holidays and celebrations, etc.
To help with our inquiry into culture, the first and second grade classes paid a visit to the National Museum of Ethnology, or Minpaku as it is called in Japanese. The museum has a huge collection of cultural artifacts from around the world and the students spent their time there researching different countries of their choice.
