March was full of transitions for Preschool! We recycled old library books into art, reflected on and finished up our Healthy Habits unit, finished Length, Weight, & Capacity in math and started on number bonds.
On Wednesday, we dove into our new UOI: How the World Works. The pre-assessment involved going out to various spots around Rokko Island and drawing one living and one non-living children saw at each location. This activity sparked the discussion of what makes something living. You can see some of Preschool’s ideas below.
The main characteristic of living things we will be focusing on is “change.” All living things go through a process of change.
We’ll be doing planting (we prepped the garden today!) and also talking about the life cycles of various living things– including people!
