So, on a wet day, the Playgroup children and parents enjoyed different movements to strengthen muscles, confidence and coordination.
The children first started to climb pyramids of different heights. Everyone tried and after several rounds, the children showed improved coordination and much more confidence! In the end, some managed to climb on top, stand with both feet put and then jump down - all by themselves.
Next, the children crawled on all fours through play tunnels. This activity engages the child’s whole body and requires motor coordination. It strengthens the muscles, influences visual skills and helps with emotional development. Could you match your child’s risk-taking by crawling through a tight space?
Lastly, the Playgroup children and parents combined moving along to songs with a recognition game.
Our classroom has some cheerful carpets from Germany with many colourful balloons printed on it. Once the teacher stopped the music and called out a colour, the children had to find the right colour balloon on the carpet.
This game was very popular and got everyone moving amongst laughter.
The Playgroup members had a fun morning and did lots of good for their bodies!
