A look at authentic feedback in GRADE TWO
We have been looking at Scientific Drawings in our unit of inquiry. We are learning to draw accurately when recording the findings of our experiments.
In our Art lesson, we learned to use feedback to improve the accuracy of our drawings.
We believe that feedback is an essential part of learning for children. It helps a child understand what they are learning and also gives clear guidance on how to improve.
- Children were shown the video ‘Austin’s Butterfly’.
- We talked about the steps and modelled giving good feedback.
- Children were presented with realistic photographs to illustrate biologically.
- They paired up and give each other specific and clear feedback about how to improve their drawings.
The final drawings are amazingly accurate. Do pop by and check them out at the foyer!
