Grade 5 just finished the most important project of their primary years – The Exhibition! They spent over two months inquiring into an issue of their choice, interviewing people in the community, and taking action. They used all of the skills and knowledge they’ve been working on throughout their time in the PYP.
What was the best thing about PYPX?
Ryusei – I learned a lot of things from my topic about Happiness and the Brain. I learned how to better communicate with people and worked on my persuasion skills when it came time to take action!
Lu – I could tell people that littering was bad and persuade them not to litter. I learned a lot of information about litter and how it harms the environment and animals.
Mia – When I took action I was able to make people happy. I held a drive at school and brought the goods to the Ronald McDonald house which made the workers so happy. I was glad they were happy!
David- Now I know all this knowledge about littering and it makes me think my actions.
What was the most important thing you learned during PYPX?
Zeke – I think the most important thing I learned during the Exhibition is that litter can cause way more damage than people think. Everything is linked together so if one animal eats trash or plastic, it travels through the food chain!
Jacob – The most important thing I learned is that littering impacts our environment and our community will look worse.
Marvin – Littering is something very bad and it kills sooo many animals. Humans litter and animals get killed, which is so bad.
