The Playgroup took advantage of the sunny day and headed for the sandbox in the school yard.
Playing in the sand not only helps young children develop their fine motor skills by using small shovels and pushing sand into little forms, it also benefits their senses by touching sand which hasa special texture.
The Playgroup children and parents enjoyed the sun rays as well as building, digging, sharing and communicating in and around our school’s sandbox.
At the end of our unit on the life cycle of living things, the Preschool class visited the Itami Insectarium. The children had an opportunity to see many different insects at different stages of their life cycles.
